So glad I stumbled on this. I earned my PhD a few years ago, got a tenure-track professorship, and absolutely 100% and gladly threw it away after a few years because I figured out that I love writing fiction and academia stifled my voice in every way (not to mention the casual bullying of the non-tenured in my department). Yes to doing what you love, Iām there too, even if scary.
Soo excited to se your Substack. Iwwv is my favourite book and I want to know everything about the process of writing a new book. The best of wishes!! š«¶š»
So very intrigued to see what you create next. This business is a tricky one to traverse at the best of times. And as a new writer myself, planning to take the plunge into the world of publishing (hopefully, I can snag an agent!) any knowledge would be most welcome.
Sooo excited to see you on Substack and even more excited to hear you've handed in your PhD and are giving full-time writing a go - all my fingers crossed š¤
Glad to hear you'll be writing in volume again soon & I look forward to reading it. Congrats on the PhD!
