When I realized I was due for another RtP post it caught me by surprise; two weeks is an eternity and the blink of an eye, depending which timeline you’re on. Publishing, though—especially when you’re publishing a couple of things in tandem—often puts you on several different timelines at the same time. (Are you tired of hearing me talk about time yet? Good luck finding a writer who isn’t obsessed with it, doesn’t constantly want for it and feel that they’ve squandered it no matter how they spend it.)
With Graveyard Shift off my desk, more or less, until copyedit pass comes back, my attention has been divided between Hot Wax, foreign rights, conferencing, and all the business administration that didn’t get done in January. Hot Wax was the first priority; after I read through T.’s edit letter and his inline comments we jumped on Zoom to talk about what the first big round of revisions might look like.
